Homeopathy

“Like cures like”.

In 1790, the physician Dr. Samuel Hahnemann (1755-1843) from Meissen observed by chance in a self-experiment with cinchona bark that this substance caused exactly those symptoms in him against which it was used in sick people. In numerous further experiments, he examined many other substances of plant, animal, or mineral origin and repeatedly came to the conclusion that medicines cause characteristic symptoms in healthy people that they heal in sick people. Medical historians date the beginning of homeopathy to 1796 when Hahnemann first presented his findings to the scientific public in "Hufeland's Journal". From his experiments, he derived the following principle: “Choose, to cure gently, quickly, certainly, and permanently, in every case of disease, a remedy that can cause a similar ailment to that which it is to cure”.
